Information Report
Association of Christian Journalists (ACJ) invites Editors-in-Chief and contributors of Christian periodical press, heads of information departments, leaders of churches, denominations, missions, and all concerned to the 6th Conference of Christian media
"CHRISTIAN PRESS - 2004",
that will be held on April 23 - 25 2004 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The conference program includes:1. Organisational issues:
ACJ President's report for the intervening period; goals and objectives for the coming period;
discussion of the report, adoption of a resolution;
election of new Board;
election of regional representatives and heads of the departments of ACJ;
discussion and adoption of Code of Ethics for Christian Journalists;
admission of new ACJ members, issue of journalist certificates.
2. Round tables. Discussion of the topics:
what we read into the term "Christian press";
conscience and ethics: compromise or truth?;
trends in the development of Christian and secular press;
two sectors of Christian press: evangelical and ecclesiastical
(differences and common tasks);
the theme of Motherland and patriotism in Christian media;
Christian printed media and Church (aspects of collaboration);
openness in church press;
evangelism and media; how to make a periodical evangelistic;
Christian printed media and the state;
latitude in religion, self-criticism and objectivity of the journalist;
prospects of raising the level of Christian journalists' skills;
other topics and issues.
3. Master classes, seminars:
basics of journalism, journalism genres;
how can a Christian periodical find its own unique image;
making-up, layout, design, prepress;
how to grow a periodical's own author.
4. Adoption of joint declarations and appeals:
to churches and missions;
to authorities: to the government and to the parliament;
to secular and Christian media (radio, television, press);

Registration fee
The registration fee to be paid upon the arrival to the conference. The amount of the registration fee (for 3 days) for each participant is:
$US 100 (three meals a day + comfortable accommodation)
